Welcome to SK ACADEMY. As a school, we aim to inspire students to‌ ‌expand‌ ‌their‌ ‌passion‌ ‌and‌ ‌‌‌enthusiasm for the arts while having fun and achieving their full potential. We want students to discover confidence, strength, and make wonderful memories through dance. This is a dance school where creativity, individuality, and self-expression are fostered by teachers, students, and families who are passionate about the performing arts. Our goal is to create a positive and happy experience for all of our students. We strive to nurture and develop talent, celebrate the achievements of all students and inspire a love and appreciation of all styles of dance.We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment in which all students can feel empowered, comfortable and free to express themselves.
MEET THE TEAM
Founder & Principal
VICKY TERRY
Her teaching experience spans over 15 Years. She has extensive experience in teaching tap, modern ballet, and Jazz in both ISTD syllabus and non syllabus work. She also has excellent knowledge in delivering the BTEC level 2 & 3 Extended Diploma in Dance.
Miss Vicky is a teacher and Choreographer and has taught for many well-known dance schools & performing art institutions. Her past students are performing across the dance genre for companies such as Rambert & Ackram Khan, commercially for well known Music Artists, in the West End and Cruises.
Trained at the Centre of Performing Arts, she has enjoyed a diverse teaching career across many genres, including Musical Theatre throughout the UK and in the USA. She enjoyed 8 years teaching at the BRIT School, where she taught a range of techniques and choreographed performance work. She also continues to perform & choreograph with a number of amateur theatre companies.
Miss Vicky looks forward to the next chapter in her dance journey by providing a dance school that embraces students who have a passion for the performing arts.
CLASSES WE OFFER
As the school grows, we plan to expand our timetable with more classes on a variety of different days. SK is registered with the ISTD so children have the opportunity to progress through the grades and take dance exams - The society is one of the leading dance examination boards with the widest range of dance genres available, and is an excellent opportunity for children to progress through the grades and feel a real sense of accomplishment.
Classes are split into two age groups.
Mini classes
Ages 4 - 6 years
Junior classes
Ages 7 - 11 Years

Classical ISTD Ballet - Age 5+
Classical Ballet training begins with our exciting Pre Primary classes at just 5 years old and continues on with the ISTD Grades and eventually Vocational Examinations for our advanced students.
Pointe Work is introduced at a minimum age of 12 and each student is assessed individually by their class teachers to ensure an appropriate level both technically and physically has been reached.
ISTD Tap - Age 5+
Tap classes begin with our Pre Primary classes at just 5 years old and continues on with the ISTD Grades and eventually the ISTD Vocational Examinations for our advanced dancers.
Tap is an excellent addition to a dancer's training and an important skill to become a versatile performer.
Junior Jazz

Our Junior Movers classes begin with our 8-10-year-old class and are a high-energy class. Students enjoy working on the different styles of Jazz dance including Modern, Lyrical, Commercial and Broadway Jazz. These classes are non-syllabus based and the different styles offered to broaden our dancer's knowledge and vocabulary.
Musical Theatre - Age 4+
Musical Theatre classes provide a firm favourite amongst our students. It is ideal for those who like to sing, dance and act as students to learn excerpts from a broad range of Musicals whilst improving their singing and performance skills.

Street Dance - Age 6+
